Play Like a Beginner

Facilitated by Beth Fortune and Kelly Clingan, this 2-day professional development will leave you rethinking how to teach in a beginning music classroom.

What to expect

• Experience a musical role reversal by joining an ensemble on an “off” instrument.

• Brown bag lunch conversation to unpack what you learned and discuss other relevant topics.

• Focus on aural learning and improvisation.

• Dive into lessons and methods that are centered in jazz music but uses the National Core Act standards.

• Earn 12 clock hours in 2 days!

ELIGIBILITY: This development is open to pre-service teachers and current music teachers.

SCHEDULE: Meets from 9AM - 3PM on Monday, July 1 and Tuesday, July 2.
