Summer Jazz Lab
July 6 - 10 | Grades 9 - 12
Learn to approach jazz with a holistic understanding of its history and development while expanding your improvisation vocabulary, understanding form and chord changes, refining your performance skills, and taking the next step in your musicianship through small ensemble collaboration.
Femme Jazz Summer Camp
July 13 - 17 | Grades 6 - 12
Focus on playing freely and improvising in a supportive learning environment. Open to all female, trans, gender-expansive, and nonbinary students, this camp supports students in building their skills, growing their confidence, and developing leadership through collaborative ensemble playing.
Summer Jazz Ambassadors
Training: July 8 - 9 or July 15 - 16
Grades 10 - 12, and recent 2026 graduates
Step into a leadership role by mentoring students enrolled in our Second Line and Connections summer camps. Jazz Ambassadors guide younger musicians in combos, assist with instrument-specific class time, and perform with fellow Ambassadors and Seattle JazzED Faculty throughout the summer.
Summer Second Line Project
July 20 - 25 | Grades 6 - 12
Get your groove on! Students will learn fun and festive music from the New Orleans Second Line tradition while developing rhythmic precision and ensemble coordination in a dynamic marching environment.
Summer Connections
July 27 - 31 | Grades 5 - 9
Build your confidence and skills in this high-energy summer music camp designed to strengthen tone, rhythmic accuracy, improvisation, and ensemble communication. Students will expand their musicianship while learning new songs with other passionate musicians and exploring creative expression in a small-group combo setting.
Summer Jazz Foundations
August 3 - 7 | Grades 4 - 8
August 10 - 14 | Grades 4 - 8
Students with no previous music experience are invited to begin their musical journey in this week-long summer camp. Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of their instrument of choice, including sound production, rhythm, and basic ensemble playing. Through guided instruction and collaborative music-making, students will begin playing songs within just a few days. Two locations.
