Build Community and Confidence in a Welcoming Environment!

Focus on playing freely and improvising in a supportive learning environment. Open to all female, trans, gender-expansive, and nonbinary students, this camp supports students in building their skills, growing their confidence, and developing leadership through collaborative ensemble playing. Participants will share their learning in a culminating performance at the end of the week

Campers in grades 10-12 and recent graduates are also eligible to participate in our Summer Jazz Ambassadors Camp, a program that supports the development of musical leadership, communication skills, and peer mentorship. To learn more and sign up for this opportunity, click here.

Program Details

Eligibility

TRACK 1
Grades 6-8 (as of 2026-2027 school year)
1-2 years of experience on your instrument

TRACK 2
Grades 9-12 (as of 2026-2027 school year)
3+ years of experience on your instrument

Instruments: Voice, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Upright Bass, Violin, Drums, Vibraphone. Other non-traditional jazz instruments are also welcome.

9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, daily

Seattle JazzED South Lake Union site (380 Boren Ave N, Seattle, WA 98109)

PERFORMANCE
Friday, July 17 at Van Vorst Plaza, 12-1 PM

SLIDING SCALE TUITION
We believe that every student who wants to play should get to play. That’s why we offer a variety of tuition levels for our programming.

We encourage you to select the option that’s best for your family at this time.

  • $900: Mutual Aid Supporter + Standard Tuition

  • $750: Pay It Forward + Standard Tuition

  • $625: Tuition Level A - Standard Tuition

  • $450: Tuition Level B

  • $300: Tuition Level C

  • $150: Tuition Level D

If you’re unable to pay for tuition at any level at this time, we want you in our classes! Please click here to request a code for our no-tuition option. No questions asked, no info required.

If you’re able to choose a level that is above standard tuition, your support will go even farther to ensure:

  • Every student has access to JazzED programs, regardless of their ability to pay.

  • Teaching artists can earn a livable wage while mentoring and inspiring our next generation of musicians.

A new Washington State law (ESSB 5814) requires us to add sales tax to tuition. Sales tax will apply to all tuition amounts up to our standard tuition level.
