Learn music teaching techniques directly from our expert JazzED educators, get support in creating your own lesson plans, and continue to build your leadership skills as a professional musician. Participation in this class includes a weekly team meeting in addition to supporting students in either virtual online sectional and/or in-person ensemble-style learning spaces. (Learn more about the Foundations program here.) Participating high school students will earn service hours in both learning and mentorship spaces. Now open to college aged musicians!

REGISTRATION
This class is open to students in grades 9-college.

SCHEDULE

Weekly Team Meetings

  • Wednesdays - 6:00-7:30 PM
    October 5 - December 14, 2022*

*Participation in the weekly team meetings will only be required during the fall quarter (October-December) and will count towards students’ total service hours.

Volunteer Schedule

  • Monday: Flute, Drum, Trumpet Sectionals - 5:00-5:45 PM online via Zoom 

  • Tuesday: Trombone, Saxophone Sectionals - 5:00-5:45 PM online via Zoom 

  • Thursday: Guitar, Bass, Cello, Violin, Clarinet Sectionals - 5:00-5:45 PM online via Zoom 

  • Saturday: Ensemble "All-Play" Class - 11:00AM-1:00 PM @ Seattle JazzED 

If you are a high school student who has already participated in our Mentors in Training classes previously, you are welcome to continue mentoring our youngest learners and can start earning service-learning hours immediately. SLIDING SCALE TUITION
We are committed to this program being financially accessible for ALL families.

Your tuition payment helps cover the cost of renting class space and paying our educators a fair wage, as well as classroom supplies, sheet music, etc.

Choose an amount that sits meaningfully within your budget:

  • $440/quarter (full tuition), do not enter any code

  • $330/quarter (25% off), enter code THREETHIRTY

  • $220/quarter (50% off), enter code TWOTWENTY

  • $110/quarter (75% off), enter code ONETEN

  • $0 (FREE) - enter code WAIVER

You will have the option of entering a sliding scale tuition code on the registration check-out page. Be sure to select the payment plan option if you want to break your payments up. Please note you will also have the option of paying your chosen amount in full if you prefer
