Find the groove on your instrument

Connections Rhythm is designed for students with a year of learning on their instrument looking to learn about the important role of a rhythm section. The rhythm section provides a pivotal role in any ensemble but especially in a jazz combo.

Connections Rhythm will center around instruments that traditionally make up a band's rhythm section - drums, percussion, bass, guitar, and piano (but all instruments are welcome). Students will learn to identify and play a variety of grooves and time-feels captured through the history of jazz from swing, latin, bossa nova and more!

PROGRAM DETAILS

ELIGIBILITY
This class is open to students between 5th and 8th grade who have played for at least one year on their instrument.

SCHEDULE
Fall Quarter: September 29, 2025 - December 8, 2025
Winter Quarter: January 5, 2026 - March 16, 2026
Spring Quarter: March 23, 2026 - June 15, 2026

SLIDING SCALE TUITION

We believe that every student who wants to play should get to play. That’s why we offer a variety of tuition levels for our programming.

We encourage you to select the option that’s best for your family at this time.

  • $450: Mutual Aid Supporter + Standard Tuition

  • $365: Pay It Forward + Standard Tuition

  • $300: Tuition Level A - Standard Tuition

  • $225: Tuition Level B

  • $150: Tuition Level C

  • $65: Tuition Level D

If you’re unable to pay for tuition at any level at this time, we want you in our classes! Please click here to request a code for our no-tuition option. No questions asked.

If you’re able to choose a level that is above standard tuition, your support will go even farther to ensure:

  • Every student has access to JazzED programs, regardless of their ability to pay.

  • We can hire and retain local working musicians to teach our classes at livable wage in our community.

REGISTRATION

You will have the option of choosing your tuition on the registration check-out page. Be sure to select the payment plan option if you want to break your payments up. Please note you will also have the option of paying your chosen amount in full if you prefer  

After registering, you should receive a confirmation email from our online registration system Active.com. If you don't receive a confirmation email from Active.com, please contact us to ensure we have your registration.
