Learn to play an instrument or sing in a Jazz Prep Ensemble
Open to grades grades 4-8.
No experience required, beginners welcome. Learn from top educators, including choir director, Seattle gospel legend Cora Jackson and percussion director, Tony Sodano from the Seattle Seahawks Blue Thunder Drumline.
Choose from flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, upright bass, guitar, piano & vocals, or drums. Students are reading music and playing songs within weeks. Parents can look forward to performances throughout the year.

CHOOSE YOUR ENSEMBLE
You can learn to play the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, upright bass, guitar, piano, drums OR vocals in the Jazz Prep Ensembles. Different ensembles rehearse at different times.
Mondays and Wednesdays. 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Piano & Choir Prep Ensemble (piano and vocals) with Darrius Willrich, Cora Jackson and Sherrell Mitchell
Every student will have 30 minutes in small group choir, 30 minutes in small group piano, and 30 minutes in large choir.

Jazz Prep Ensemble classes begin the week of October 1, 2018 and run through Thursday, May 16, 2019.
No classes on Oct 31, Nov 12, Nov 19-23, Jan 21, Jan 30, Feb 18-22, March 21, April 8-12.
Mini-Performance: Thursday, December 13th at 6:30pm at JazzED in the MLK FAME auditorium. Dress rehearsal on Wednesday, December 12th at 6:30pm.
Final performance: Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center.

You will have the option of entering a sliding scale tuition code on the registration check-out page. Be sure to select the payment plan option if you want to break your payments up. Please note you will also have the option of paying your chosen amount in full if you prefer.

Students can play an instrument they already own or rent, but please check with us before you register to ensure that it's part of our curriculum. Seattle JazzED can loan instruments free of charge to students who need assistance. To inquire, contact us.
Students in grades 4-8 are invited to register. No previous musical experience required. Please register your student(s) online HERE. You should receive a confirmation email from our online registration system Active.com when you complete registration.
