You can learn to play the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, upright bass, guitar, piano & vocals, or drums in the Jazz Prep Ensembles.

Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM

  • Piano & Choir Prep Ensemble (piano and vocals) with Ellaina Lewis, Darrius Willrich, and Sherrill Mitchell.

    • Every student will have 30 minutes in small group choir, 30 minutes in small group piano, and 30 minutes in large choir.

  • String Prep Ensemble (upright bass and guitar) with Kelsey Mines and Ben Hunter

  • Percussion Prep Ensemble (drums) with Tony Sodano

  • Brass Prep Ensemble (trumpet and trombone) with Ricardo Luna

  • Woodwind Prep Ensemble (flute, clarinet, and saxophone) with Rex Gregory



  • Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM

  • Jazz Prep Ensemble classes begin Wednesday October 2, 2019 and run through Wednesday, May 20, 2020. 

  • No classes on:
    M 11/11 (Veterans Day)
    M 12/23, W 12/25, M 12/30, W 1/1 (Winter Break)
    M 1/20 (MLK Day)
    M 2/17, W 2/19 (Mid-Winter Break)
    M 4/13, W 4/15 (Spring Break)

We are committed to this program being financially accessible for ALL families. You select the sliding scale payment that works for you! 

  • $235 per month, do not enter any code

  • $135 per month, enter code ONETHIRTYFIVE

  • $50 per month, enter code FIFTY

  • $25 per month, enter code TWENTYFIVE

  • Full tuition waiver, enter code WAIVER

You will have the option of entering a sliding scale tuition code on the registration check-out page. Be sure to select the payment plan option if you want to break your payments up. Please note you will also have the option of paying your chosen amount in full if you prefer.

If you'd like to pay a different sliding scale amount than the options here, fill out our easy online form, and we'll send you a custom tuition code.

Students can play an instrument they already own or rent, but please check with us before you register to ensure that it's part of our curriculum. Seattle JazzED can loan you an instrument free of charge.
