Jam Sessions happen on a Friday every other month. Every youth jam session is curated by a professional musician, beginning with a 45-minute master class, leading in to a jam session. Check the schedule below and add the jams to your calendar.

It's open to any student in grade 6-12; you don't have to be registered in a JazzED program to come. In other words, bring your friends.

Jam Sessions are informal gatherings meant to help musicians β€œwoodshed” or work out new ideas, develop new material, or simply practice a song they have been working on. It is a social gathering of artistic minds, a place to share ideas, ask for help, and meet new friends.

At Seattle JazzED, our Jam Sessions are designed give you the opportunity to play jazz standards and work on your improvisation. Whether you're learning how to solo or working on advanced techniques, our Jam Sessions work for all students. If you're new to improvisation you'll get the guidance and tools needed to start. More advanced students can come prepared with songs and concepts that they would like to try out in a live setting.
