As you browse our programs, remember: Financial aid is always available.

At Seattle JazzED, we believe music education should be accessible to all students, regardless of financial circumstances. If the cost of a program is too expensive for you, please fill out our easy online financial aid application.  Our financial aid process does NOT require you to submit financial records, tax statements or immigration/citizenship status. We work with every family and have never turned a student away due to financial circumstances. In fact, 40% of JazzED families receive some amount of financial aid.

Fall Jazz Club - Beginning September - 6 sessions
Catch up from summer vacation and refresh your music skills before Big Band Ensemble auditions in November. Grades 4-8.

Girls Jazz Club - Beginning October - 5 sessions
Girls will work on solo strategies, getting a big sound and confidence in playing their parts. This will be a positive, student-driven class and good preparation for Big Band Ensemble auditions. Grades 4-8.

Jazz Prep Ensembles - Beginning October
For kids who are new to music. Learn to play flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone or sing in these year round after-school ensembles!  Free instrument loans available. Beginners, grades 4-8.

All-Star Combos - Beginning September/October
Get placed in a gigging combo. You register for the coaching time slot that works with your schedule. Rehearse monthly October - May. Grades 9-12.

Girls Jazz Sleepover - Saturday, Oct 14 - Sunday, Oct 15
Learn tons of great stuff in all day clinics with world-famous female faculty. Bond with like-minded girls at group meals, movie night, all-sing and more. All instruments and vocals welcome. Grades 6-12.

College Summit + Audition Workshop Saturday, Oct 28
Learn how to evaluate schools, ace your college audition, and apply for music scholarships. Local, regional and national reps from: Berklee College of Music, New England Conservatory, The New School, University of Miami, CWU, UW, Bellevue College & many others. All instruments and vocals. Grades 9-12.

Big Band Ensembles - Auditions Saturday, Nov 18 - Sunday, Nov 19
Play and perform in a jazz ensemble with acclaimed teachers like Clarence Acox, Darin Faul, Deb Schaaf and more. Rehearse weekly January - May 2018. Grades 5-12, with at least one year experience.

Creative Music Orchestra and The New Works Ensemble - Audition Sunday, Nov 19
Open to all instruments (and we mean it! Viola, bassoon, French horn, etc.) Explore multi-genre and new compositions with director Wayne Horvitz. Rehearse weekly January - May, 2018. Grades 6-12.

Girls Ellington Project - Seeking interested students
Seattle's only all-city, all-girls jazz band submits a recording to the Essentially Ellington Competition with the goal of being a finalist and participating in the festival in New York City in May. The ensemble rehearses periodically from October-April. Interested? Email Kelly Clingan at to set up an audition.

Jam SessionsFree, no registration required
We meet one Friday every other month. Every jam is curated by a professional musician, beginning with a 45-minute master class, leading in to a jam session.

A weekly class (45 minutes) for children 8 months to 5 years which invites families to stomp, strut and swing as they learn about the core concepts, instruments, and great performers of jazz with *live* music!
