JAZZ PREP ENSEMBLES
For kids who are new to music. Learn to play flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone or sing in these year round after-school ensembles!  Free instrument loans available. Beginners, grades 4-8.

FREE JAM SESSIONS
We meet one Friday every other month. Every jam is curated by a professional musician, beginning with a 45-minute jam session basics master class, leading in to a jam session.

WEBOP!
A weekly class (45 minutes) for children 8 months to 5 years which invites families to stomp, strut and swing as they learn about the core concepts, instruments, and great performers of jazz with *live* music!

BIG BAND ENSEMBLES
Play and perform in a jazz ensemble with acclaimed teachers like Clarence Acox, Darin Faul, Mark Taylor and more. Rehearse weekly January - May 2018. Grades 5-12, with at least one year experience.

NEW WORKS ENSEMBLE AND CREATIVE ORCHESTRA PROJECT
Open to all instruments (Viola, bassoon, French horn, etc.) Explore multi-genre and new compositions with director Wayne Horvitz. Rehearse weekly January - May, 2018. Grades 6-12.

NINA SIMONE VOCAL ENSEMBLE
Explore the crossroads of America’s roots music by learning jazz through a gospel lense. (It's not just for girls; boys welcome!) Rehearse Saturdays, January - May. Grades 8-12.

GIRLS ELLINGTON PROJECT
Seattle's only all-city, all-girls jazz band submits a recording to the Essentially Ellington Competition with the goal of being a finalist and participating in the festival in New York City in May. The ensemble rehearses periodically from October-April. Interested? Email Kelly Clingan at kelly@seattlejazzed.org to set up an audition.

ALL-STAR COMBOS
Get placed in a gigging combo with a professional coach. Rehearse once a month from October through May. Combo options for grades 7-9 and grades 9-12.

Financial aid is always available. 

At Seattle JazzED, we believe music education should be affordable to all families, regardless of financial circumstances. If the cost of a program is too expensive for you, please fill out our easy online financial aid application.  Our financial aid process does NOT require you to submit financial records, tax statements or immigration/citizenship status. We work with every family and have never turned a student away due to financial circumstances. In fact, 40% of JazzED families receive some amount of financial aid.
